On September 2, the International Actuarial Association commemorates the International Day of Actuaries. The DAY we've all been waiting for is here. The document we received reads aloud about Actuary Day, the birthday of the late Shri L. S.
Vaidyanathan, which is celebrated on August 21. At this point, this could be good news for the profession, since we have our day like other professionals like CA when they are proud of their contributions. The late Shri L S Vaidyanathan was the first Indian actuary to help establish the actuarial profession in India, ultimately helping India's insurance industry to postnationalize. The purpose of this event was to demonstrate to the governments of several nations that actuaries existed and carried out a legitimate and necessary field of work; since then, the profession has grown by leaps and bounds. Emma Vitz also joined Mathieu Langelier to discuss her career, her studies and her contribution to the Australian Actuary Climate Index.
To celebrate International Actuary Day, the International Actuarial Association (IAA) has published a series of impactful interviews to showcase the influential work of actuaries around the world. The Institute of Actuaries is committed to promoting the actuarial profession and provides expert commentary on public policy issues that show uncertainty about future financial results. Clarissa Dharma joined Mathieu Langelier, executive director of the IAA, to discuss her experience working in “traditional” and “non-traditional” actuarial roles, how the connection with the global actuarial community has benefited her professional development, and where she sees actuaries developing in the future. As an assistant actuary and, simultaneously, he was appointed part-time professor of Actuarial Science at the Sydenham School of Business and Economics, Mumbai, in which position he launched several young aspiring young people to their actuarial careers.
These include articles with members of the Institute of Actuaries David Knox, Clarissa Dharma, Andrew Boal and Emma Vitz. On September 2, 1895, the first International Congress of Actuaries (ICA) was held in Brussels for the first time. The growth of the actuarial profession in India is largely due to the missionary zeal it displayed in that area. Before September 2, the IAA presented actuaries who are active internationally and who wanted to share their experiences.
Mr. Vaidyanathan had long held the view that the system then in vogue in India of taxing life insurance companies on the entire surplus revealed by the actuarial valuation was very unfair.
